A little further north along the coastline will bring you to Holy Island, where the Lindisfarne Priory, Holy Island Castle and the St Aidan’s mead winery can be found. The island is accessible only at low tide via a causeway. To the south of the county you will find Hadrian's Wall, a 'World Heritage' site and to the north the Scottish Borders all steeped in history and a reminder of the regions turbulent past.
